From JR Akihabara station (“Route 1” on the map)
1. Leave the station via the “Showa-dori” exit.
As you exit the station area through the ticket gates, take note of the direction you are facing—east. The warehouse is directly east of the station. To get there, you’ll basically be walking in a long straight line.
2. Walk forward into the open air.
The big street you are about to cross is Showa-dori.
3. Cross the zebra crossing.
Directly in front of you is a Chinese-style soba shop, with a gigantic picture of a bowl of noodles on the sign. There’s a little alley on either side of the soba shop.
4. Enter the alley to the left of the soba shop.
(It’s technically not an alley, it’s just that this street is divided into two halves by the overhead railway line (the Sobu line) that runs down the middle.)
5. Walk forward, straight ahead.
You’ll cross a few little streets, then a big one with traffic lights. In total, you’ll walk about 500 meters/yards, so it shouldn’t take longer than five or ten minutes.
6. The Second Harvest Japan warehouse is on the left-hand (north) side of the road, a little further along from those traffic lights.
You’ll probably recognize it by all the people moving boxes of food around outside, but there’s a little easel-style sign, too.
